Student Ministry Pastor

 
  • The Student Ministry Pastor serves the Church with leadership and vision in the delivery of programs of disciple-making and spiritual transformation of students in the middle and high school age groups.  This position, under guidance from the Family Pastor and Executive Team, will provide the vision and implementation plans to both the middle and senior high school age groups.  Integral to this position is the development of positive and supporting relationships for the parents of the youth.  As such, outreach programs are to be developed and implemented for parents as well.


    This position will be part of the Pastoral Team and will serve as a team member for implementing the vision and mission of Cascade Community Church.  Developing and maintaining effective community connections that are relevant to the development of a youth ministry will be important functions of this position.

    • Bachelors Degree with a focus in Biblical Studies and or Theology 

    • Minimum of 5 years experience in leading youth ministries

    • Licensed as a Pastor

    • Ability to effectively communicate and teach God’s word to large and small groups

    • Mature Christian who meets biblical qualifications for leadership (I Tim 3:1-13)

    • Have evidence of shepherding skills (Coaching, mentoring and counseling)

    • Demonstrated ability to work as a team member with pastors, staff, and volunteers

    • Effective communication skills (oral and written)

    • Demonstrated ability to recruit, supervise, train, and evaluate volunteers, including students and interns.

  • A. Position Responsibilities Common to all Pastors

    • Submit to and engage in supporting the Vision, Mission and values of CCC as well as adhere to the stated policies and procedures 

    • Act diligently to implement the value of replication in all ministry endeavors by developing others through mentorship programs, intern programs and leader development activities

    •  Work collaboratively and holistically with the other ministries of CCC to accomplish the Vision and Mission of CCC

      Guide and administer assigned ministries

      Identify, train and lead volunteers in accomplishing the goals of the assigned ministries.

    • Effectively communicate, orally and in writing, to various audiences about the goals of the ministries

    • Provide Biblical counseling to requesting individuals within the guidelines established by CCC

    • Administer area/ministry budget within the parameters and allocation established by CCC

    • Prepare a yearly work plan (addressing personal, ministry and CCC goals), including a yearly calendar of events, relevant to the accomplishment of the respective ministry responsibilities.

    B. Responsibilities Specific to Student Ministry 

    1. Provide leadership and guidance for the development of a comprehensive student ministry program.  The program should have the following: a Sunday component, a weekday component, and a worship and disciple making emphasis.

    • Develop volunteers to serve as leaders and mentors for the youth.

    • Provide a student ministry experience that incorporates Bible study, small and large group activities, and music.

    • Provide leadership in collaboration with additional student ministry staff in conducting both the Senior high and Junior high student ministries.

    • Seek out and offer special events for the youth that may serve as an outreach to the non-believer

    • Organize and supervise a winter and summer camp experience for both senior high and middle school ministries. 

    • Serve on relevant community groups focused on youth in the community as approved by the associate pastor.

    • Provide recommendations to the senior leadership for changes or improvements in the student ministry program.

  • This position requires conducting job responsibilities on Sundays, some evenings, and special performances as scheduled.  The position requires oral and written communication skills.  The position is expected to respond to crises events 24/7.

  • Reports To:  Family Ministry Pastor and Executive Team

    This position is a twelve-month salaried position. Salary and benefits as determined by the current salary schedule of Cascade Community Church. The position is governed by the policies and procedures set forth in the Personnel Handbook for Cascade Community Church.  Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with Church policies
