God calls the family to play a vital role in discipling the next generation. How this is accomplished varies from family to family. Here at Cascade we want to come alongside parents as you disciple your family. Children’s Ministry at Cascade Church works with you as we provide age appropriate learning. Like you, we want them to learn from God's Word and seek after a relationship with their Creator and Savior. As the children grow older we dig deeper into the Bible to build a foundation for their relationship with Jesus to grow.
In our Elementary ministry, we work to continue building up a strong, gospel-centered foundation for your children. We do this by teaching children about the nature and character of God—that He is wise, generous, loving and good. Our hope is to partner with parents in the discipleship of their children by creating environments, curriculum and resources that center on the gospel of Jesus Christ. On Sundays, in CascadeKids, we use Bible centered curriculum, do creative activities, play games, and develop friendships.
We have a wonderful team of nursery & toddler volunteers to care for your little one while you attend service or class. Please also feel free to come into the nursery yourself to care for your child. Additionally, we have a small "Baby and Me" room across from our preschool classrooms where you can rock, nurse, or play with your baby while watching the service.
In our preschool classrooms, we have a loving, energetic team of preschool volunteers. While you're attending service, these volunteers are teaching your preschooler about God and His word in engaging and memorable ways. We follow a schedule in each room to make every minute count. Your children will practice the month's Bible verse, color, and do a craft that tie into the day's lesson. They will also hear a Bible story, sings songs, and engage in activities, games, and acting that also reinforce the day's lesson. We strive to create the first building blocks for a strong, gospel-centered foundation for the children.
How do I check my kids in?
We're excited to meet you! Plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early on your first visit so you have time to settle in. Look for the "First Time Kids Check In" signs and a friendly face wearing a blue badge. We'll be able to direct you to the classrooms and answer any questions.
Your kids are your greatest treasure! With that in mind, we are honored when you entrust them to our care, and we make every attempt to ensure their safety so you can enjoy service. Here are some of our safety precautions:
Routine background checks of all volunteers, ages 16+
Adult-to-child ratios designed to meet or exceed state standards
"Two adult rule" for the safety of both children and adults
Hand washing/sanitizing done after bathroom visits, sneezing or coughing, and before any snacks
Only females are allowed to change diapers if a parent provides a diaper
Volunteers are not allowed to be with a child in a bathroom or bathroom stall with the door closed
Supervisory staff are trained in CPR & First Aid
Child Dedications are a very special time and we love to honor families and their children with this time of commitment. It's all about acknowledging your children as a gift from God, professing your intent to raise your children to know and love Jesus, and also for your church family to commit to doing their part to walk with you as you disciple your kids.
If you'd like to participate in an upcoming Child Dedication, please fill out the online request form.
Awana is a weekly program (September 23 - May 11) designed to give boys and girls the opportunity to build lasting friendships, establish positive role models, hide God’s word in their heart and provide practical life lessons in a safe and fun environment. There are three clubs for different age ranges, Cubbies (Pre-K, must be 3 by 9/1/19), Sparks (K - 2 Grade) and TNT (3-5 Grade).
A regular Awana meeting is divided into three parts:
Game Time - Give children the chance to play fun games while learning teamwork, leadership and communications skills.
Handbook time - Provides children the opportunity to develop relationships in a small group while working together on memorizing scripture.
Council Time - Offers children practical life lessons in Christian living and character development.
