Facts should be effectual. If something is true then there should be an effect on us in life because of this truth. How does Jesus’ Resurrection make all of His claims effectual facts?
Romans 1:1-4. What does it mean for Jesus to be DECLARED the Son of God in power?
Acts 2:23-24 How is that power directed to death and why is that so significant?
Romans 6:8-11 If Jesus has broken and changed deaths claim over us then how should that impact how we live our lives?
Colossians 2:15 When Jesus rose he disarmed and made a public display shaming death’s broken power. Many of us live in the shadow of death intimidation and power. Fear, anxiety, control, and overprotection are often what guide our decisions in life. But Jesus’ Resurrection frees us from all of those things. How then should we life?
Colossians 2:12-15. Death had a legal claim over us due to our transgressions. This weight has been over us, and often lingers over us. But Jesus came in and satisfied and forgave us of that debt. How should we live in praise over canceled debt?
1 Corinthians 15:54-55. If He has proven Himself trustworthy, then we can praise Him in the face of death. How is this seen in Paul’s mantra in Philippians 1:21 and how should it lead the way we live our lives?
Ephesians 1:18-21. Paul makes a big deal about the magnanimous power of God directed toward us in view of the Resurrection. How should we let that power disarm the threats in our life?
1 Peter 1:3-7. Even in our worst case scenarios we can find resilience and hope that what is happening will result in spiritual growth and glorifying of Jesus. How was this seen in Jesus worst case scenario, and how does that give us hope in our trials?
Acts 3:25-26 His Resurrection guarantees the power to turn from wickedness and to turn to a life of purpose. We have a lot to look forward to. What does this purpose look like in your life?
Romans 8:34-39 is a famous passage that gives us confidence in the security of never being separated from Jesus. How should that confidence shape the way you live?
April 13, 2025 - Victory Over Sin & Death
If He has risen, then He has always been the only answer to the problem we have always had. 1 Peter 1:18-21 What does the foreknowledge of the person of Jesus show us about the history of man's problem and the need for the person of Jesus? How is this traced from Genesis to Jesus?
Acts 5:29-31, Romans 10:9 If He has risen then He provides a way of repentance and the means of forgiveness. How is this demonstrated with Peter before the Sanhedrin and what Paul states as being available for all?
Acts 4:24-25 If He has risen, then He produces in us a justified new position before Him. What does it mean to be defined our new position compared to our old identity defined by sin?
Romans 8:10-11, Ephesians 1:13-14 If He has risen then He breathes His sanctifying Holy Spirit into us. Who is the Holy Spirit and why is it so powerful to know it is He who lives in you?
Romans 6:4-11 If He is risen then sin loses its power and authority over our lives. This is the struggle that most of the New Testament authors address in their letters. What does it mean for us to live in this reality and be able to walk away from sin?
2 Corinthians 5:14-18 If He is risen then we see others in view of His victorious reconciliation. How does our radical reconciliation through Jesus change the way we see the world and our purpose in the world?
These are powerful realities made available to us only through the finished and proven work of Jesus. Why do you think Jesus used physical victories and images like rising from the dead and answering prophecies at the Kidron Valley? How should those seen realities encourage us to trust in what may not yet be seen?
