Who do we serve?
Cascade Biblical Counseling Ministry offers individual counseling for couples or singles, attending Cascade Church, who are seeking biblical direction during a crisis season of life. We regularly counsel adults 18 and older. While we do not require that everyone be a member of Cascade Church, we do require that everyone receiving counseling at Cascade Church be attending Cascade Church regularly and consider Cascade their church home for at least three months before pursuing Biblical Counseling.
-
What kinds of crisis do we provide counsel for?
Individual Counseling is made available to help with any issues that you might be facing, including marriage, parenting, relationship issues, addictions, issues of the past, fear, anger, grief, depression, anxiety, etc.
-
What if I'm currently seeing another counselor?
Formal Counseling can be an intense season in life and requires the attention and dedication of those involved. We do not want to add an extra burden to you or be yet another voice in your ear while you are hurting and looking for clarification in a time of uncertainty. Therefore, we make it a practice to serve those who are not already dedicated to receiving care elsewhere.

How do we counsel?
Our counseling approach is based upon the truths of the Bible. Biblical Counseling is what happens when you use the Bible to have a conversation with and show care to, those who are struggling with relational, moral, and spiritual difficulty as we live life in a broken world. Sooner or later, everyone faces profound pain in these areas. The good news? God has made provision to deal with these issues through the life, death, and resurrection of His son Jesus Christ. Even more, He has shown His people how to address these issues in the pages of His Word, the Bible. It is our goal, therefore, to skillfully and practically bring God’s answers, from His Word, to shine upon the difficulties you are facing.
At Cascade Church, we regularly counsel in teams of two, so you can expect that there will be two people dedicated to talking, walking, and praying with you through your weeks of biblical counsel. Men are counseled by men, women by women, and couples are counseled by a man and a woman.
-
Who does the counseling?
The counselor you will receive will be a Christ-follower and part of the Cascade Church family. They are men and women who are committed to walking alongside fellow believers through times of trial and suffering. These counselors are trained according to the standards found at the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC). While not all of our counselors are certified with ACBC, all of our counselors are supervised by those with an ACBC certification or training. Our counselors are NOT certified with the State of Washington.
-
What is the cost?
Our counseling is free of charge. It is always a privilege to walk through valleys with those who are suffering and to share the hope that is found in God and in His Word. As such, we never want money to be an obstacle.
-
When does counseling take place?
Counseling is weekly, same day and time each week. Sessions are available Monday through Thursday at the Cascade Church campus, between the hours of 8am and 8pm. Your counselor will work with you to find a block of time that can be consistent for your sessions.
-
What is expected of me?
Your counselor will expect the following 4 things from you, as a counselee:
A willingness to grow and change.
To be on time for weekly counseling appointments.
Completion of all Lifework (homework assignments) given in-between counseling sessions. Lifework is a critical component of Biblical Counseling for growth and development.
Attending Cascade church every week, and bringing your sermon notes to appointments.
